The challenge
Atlas was scaling across multiple markets on a legacy processor that buckled under peak load, settled in a single currency, and gave their risk team no real-time visibility. Every outage meant lost merchants and a growing fraud exposure they could only review after the money had moved.
What we built
- Re-architected the core ledger as an event-sourced service so every transaction is auditable and replayable.
- Built a real-time fraud engine scoring each transaction in under 40ms against behavioural and velocity rules.
- Added native multi-currency settlement with automated FX and reconciliation.
- Deployed on autoscaling infrastructure with blue-green releases and full observability.
