Shipping secure fintech: lessons from the trenches

Security isn’t a phase at the end. It’s a set of decisions made on day one that quietly protect you for years.

When you move other people’s money, trust is the entire product. We’ve built payment platforms that clear millions a day — here’s what actually keeps them safe.

Threat-model before you architect

Before choosing a database we ask: what happens if this is compromised? Designing around the worst case makes the everyday case trivially secure. Retrofitting security onto a finished system never fully works.

Least privilege, everywhere

Every service, key, and human gets exactly the access they need and nothing more. It’s tedious to set up and it’s the single highest-leverage habit in secure engineering.

The most expensive breach is the one you could have prevented with a decision that cost nothing at design time.

Make the audit trail immutable

Event-sourced ledgers mean every movement of money is recorded, replayable, and impossible to quietly alter. Your auditors will love it. Your future self, during an incident, will love it more.
